I spent months picking up chords on YouTube, but I never knew if I was using them correctly. I bought this dictionary a bit hesitant because of the price, but it was worth it. Everything is organized by key, so I know the chords work well together. I saved a lot of time that I would’ve spent searching.

I liked it because it’s organized by key. If the song is in G, I open that section and the chords there work. You start to pick up the pattern of how to use it. The only thing missing was more ready-made progression examples, but it still works really well as it is.

I have 15 minutes a day to play. Before, I lost half of that time searching for chords. Now I open straight to the key and start playing. Saving a few minutes a day makes a difference when there’s a kid screaming nearby.

I’ve already bought bad chord PDFs online. Confusing diagrams with no finger numbering. This one is well made. It has numbers showing where to place your fingers and clear markings. You can tell it was made by someone who truly understands the subject.

When I saw 370 chords, I thought it was too much. But you don’t need to learn everything. You only use the ones in the key you’re playing. In D, there are around 20 or 30 chords. That’s very manageable.

I don’t know anything about music theory. I don’t know what a fourth degree or an augmented fifth is. Even so, I was able to use it. You just test which chord has the sound you want and that’s it. You learn by using it—you don’t need to study theory beforehand.
